In the early morning of March 10th, 2024, the Lord called Alice home to eternal rest. She is now re-united with her beloved Mother and Father, two Sisters- Joceas Boyd and Robbie Johnson, one Brother William Davis, two Nieces- Veronica and Alfreda. Alice leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted special friend Frederick Adams; a God-Daughter, Courtney Calhoun-Brice (Ernest); three nephews, Leonard, Eric and Patrick; one great-niece, Nicole; one great-nephew, Trevor; 2 great-great nieces, Laurynn and Anistynn; grandchildren, Shanya, Ethan, Maeghan Jaxson and Peyton; closest cousin, Millie Martin; close family friend, Antonio Massey,a very special pair who shared their daughter with Alice, Colette Calhoun and Jeffrey Calhoun, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Alice Marie Davis Brice, 91, died on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at her Rock Hill home with her family by her side. Alice was born on January 11th, 1943 in Chester County, SC to Robert Davis and Teretha Buckson. She lived in Edgemoor, SC until she was 5 years old and moved to Jersey City, NJ with her dear Aunt Jo. In 1961, Alice graduated from Lincoln High School in Jersey City, NJ. After graduation, Alice pursued a nursing career as a Certified Nurse Assistant where she later retired.
Alice enjoyed the simpler things of life and focused on what really mattered. For her, that meant enjoying life with family and friends. She had a special bond with her God-Daughter and grandchildren. Alice enjoyed cooking for her family and was well known for her moist pound cakes. She was most excited about hosting an annual Easter and Thanksgiving dinner at her home. Alice was a devoted member of Red Oak A.M.E Zion Church where she was an honorary member of the Hymn Choir and a member of the Pastors' Aid. She also was a member of the Missionary and JustUs. To know Alice was to love Alice. She was genuine, sweet, kind-hearted, and full of love. She was beautiful on the inside and out. She was the perfect mediator, trustworthy, and sincere. Alice was gentle but direct, firm and never had a problem speaking her mind. Alice was full of wisdom and remembers the smallest details. She was amazing to everyone who knew her. Her grandchildren was her everything and she talked about them until her final moments. Alice was truly one of a kind, irreplaceable, and our angel on earth.
