Anola Malik Lyons

Anola (“Malik”, “Nola”, “Mekege”) was born on April 10th, 1971, in Oakland, California, to Brenda and George Garrison. She was the beloved sister of Dioser Garrison-Quick, Khafre Garrison, and the late George R. Garrison, who preceded her in death. Throughout her journey, her bold, fearless, and fun-loving nature left an indelible mark on countless lives.

Anola grew up in Buffalo, New York, where she attended Diocesan Educational Campus (DEC) elementary. Skipping middle school, she entered high school directly at Mt. St. Joseph Academy until its closure and then continued her education at Turner Carrol High School. She pursued her passion for nursing, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Buffalo and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Walden University.
