Carrie Walker Venable, born Tuesday, March 15, 1949, first born child of Maggie Bell Barber and Clarence Walker of Chester, South Carolina, has transitioned, to her forever home, and permanent citizenship in Heaven, on Wednesday, August 05, 2026. Surely, the Lord will greet her with "Well DONE, GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT, WELL DONE" enter in and receive your reward!

Carrie was educated in the public schools of York County, SC. A proud graduate of Emmett Scott High School, Class of 1967. Furthering her education, she attended York Technical College and Miller Motte College of Business. She was employed at Winthrop College, Rock Hill Housing Authority and as Manager at Springs Executive Cafeteria, Fort Mill, SC where she retired after for 28 years of service. Continuing to embrace her culinary desire, she launched Venable's Catering Service, where she served alongside her family, training and coercing all, to serve with pride and dignity. She approached her gift to serve, the same way she has approached everything in life with love, professionalism and great joy for over 40 years.

Carrie was a devout student of the faith, and always excited to share with the congregants, what she has learned. She was a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church, with prior fellowship at Mt. Zion Church & Kingdom of God, Gethsemane and Freedom Temple Baptist Churches all of Rock Hill, SC leaving her mark, she sought an opportunity to improve and beautify the house of the Lord, with the gifts and talents that God bestowed upon her. At Weeping Mary Baptist Church, she served on the Trustee and Deaconess Boards and as a member of the WOW "Women of Weeping Mary" auxiliary. If there was anything to be done she always went above and beyond to ensure the task was completed. She believed that presentation was everything and tried her best to beautify any and all things around her. She leaves behind memories of such an affectionate smile and a legacy of spreading unconditional love to everyone that crossed her path in this journey of life. Everyone will forever remember her beautiful smile, warm hugs, and the many encouraging conversations she shared about Love, Faith and Character. Exemplifying, the life of a Christian in deed.

Predecease was her father, Clarence Walker; stepfather, Andrew Wright; mother, Maggie Wright Brown; sister, Bobbie Walker Smith and brother, Melvin Walker.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, is her beloved husband, Thomas Venable, Jr; two children, Anita Simmons (Anthony) and Ervin Venable (Laturia); five grandchildren: Bryant Venable (Qiauna), Anthony Simmons Jr, Carron Venable, Ramon Venable and Reshawn Venable; two great-grandchildren, Asher Venable and Raelynn Venable, all of Rock Hill, SC; four sisters: Mattie Bell Hope, Juanita Belton, and Salena Erby (Darryl), all of Rock Hill, SC and Janice Wright of Myrtle Beach, SC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
