Carvetta Mae Hall

May 25, 1953 — August 25, 2024

Carvetta Mae Hall was born on May 25, 1953 to Harry & Ellen Sheppard. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and was educated in public schools. She graduated from P.S. Dupont High School.

In school she was a cheerleader, and a majorette in the marching band. Carvetta absolutely loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She sang in a couple of bands in the city in her younger days and she had the opportunity to sing in various church choirs. Carvetta was an active member in the Eastern Stars for many years.

She worked most of her life in the banking industry.

She met the love of her life Steve Hall while working at HSBC, and she was truly smitten with him from the start. On May 22, 2004 the two of them joined their love in Holy Matrimony. Carvetta also raised two daughters whom she loved with all her heart.

Carvetta loved dancing and living her life to the fullest. She especially loved spending quality time and taking road trips with her husband.

She also loved spending time with family and friends. Carvetta never met a stranger, and would make friends anywhere she went. She was a light in any room that she walked into. She would always say, "It's already written, enjoy life because it's too short. You only live once!"

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Harry Sheppard, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Steve; her daughters Twana Robinson (Jerome), Yashica Martin (Chuck); seven grandchildren, Charnae Alphonse (Ralph), Amire Roane (Pelin), Bryan King (Chamia), DaQuan Martin, Siani Martin, Darryl King, Jr., Jordan Robinson; five great-grandchildren, Zendaya and Aziz Roane, Jaxon and Aaryn Alphonse, Amoora King; one sister, Regina Harris, one brother-in-law George Harris.

She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends, all of whom loved and cherished her as one of their own.
