Mrs. Connie Artha Martin McCollough entered enteral rest on communion Sunday, October 5, 2025. She will be truly missed.
She was born in Chester County, South Carolina on June 21, 1937, to the late Arthur and Candas Martin.
Connie was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Hymn Choir.
Connie attended both Finley and Emmett Scott High Schools.
She worked as a CNA for many years, and she was an independent caregiver for the family. She later worked as a Central Supply Supervisor at what is now known as White Oak Manor. She was married to the late Evan McCollough.
Connie became the voice for African American paraplegic children who were challenged by medical and housing needs.
She was not satisfied until her voice was heard and the door was open for the process of placement for those children. Years after her retirement she worked as a nanny caring for VA members' little ones, that gave her an abundance of joy. She will be remembered with love, pride, and excellence in what she did.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Clifton Adams (Jack); one grandson, Cristian R. Clifton (Shardae); one great-grandson, Caleb D. Clifton; five sisters Julia Ann Seibles Williams (Calvin), Rosie M. Patterson (Baster), Emma J. Henderson (Euphrates), Joyce M. Hemphill (John), Catherine M. Robinson (Robert); one brother, Arthur Martine Jr; a brother-in-law, Willie Jean Neely; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
