Mr. David Michael Richardson of Tega Cay, South Carolina, was born on February 1, 1955, to the late Deacon Randolph and Deaconess Mary Richardson in Rock Hill S. C. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home, Friday morning, April 26.
Michael grew up in Rock Hill, S.C., as the baby brother or the “last one” as he would say of thirteen siblings. He attended the public schools of York County and later MaxAbilities of York County until he became too ill. He worked for Burger King on Saluda, in Rock Hill, for approximately twenty-five years. Michael had a large personality and was interested in many things including horses, music – New Edition and Michael Jackson – dancing, singing and the Carolina Panthers.Throughout his life, Michael participated in many activities: karate, Special Olympics, Boy Scouts and bowling. His favorite holiday was his birthday. Everyone he met he called family or friend. He loved his family, his school (MaxAbilities), and his job.
Michael joined and was baptized at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his passing.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, Sandy and Heyward, and four sisters, GraceDurham, Elizabeth Robinson, Dorothy Partlow and MargaretCheatham. Cherishing his memory are four sisters: Bettye Richardson of the home; Annie Faye Richardson of Fort Mill, SC, Gladys (Kenneth) Walker of Raleigh, NC and Sadie Williams of Rock Hill, S.C.; two brothers: John (RT) of Charlotte and James “William” (Johnsie) Cheatham of Brooklyn, NY and Rock Hill; two sisters-in-laws: Ibra Jean Richardson and Annie Bell Richardson of Rock Hill and one brother-in-law, James Robinson of Rock Hill; adopted family member, Brenda Smith, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
