Demetrius Lashawn Thompson

Demetrius Lashawn Thompson, age 49, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in January 2025. She was born on June 3, 1975, at York General Hospital in Rock Hill, SC to the late Henry Lee Mitchell and Carolyn Vanessa Thompson.

She leaves behind a cherished family, including her children Brittany, Jason, Brandon, D'andria, and Keithan as well as her beloved granddaughter, O'Chea. She was also loved by her siblings Latoya Morrison (Robert), Donny Antwan Thompson (Joyce), Henry "Lamont" Thompson (Tanya), and Ortavia Patton (AJ). Lashawn's grandfather, Jerome Thompson Sr. was a very important and guiding presence in her life. She was also impacted by the love and support of her children's father, the late Donald Jason Mobley. In addition, she is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, James Moore.

Lashawn was gifted in the art of free hand calligraphy and had some knowledge of cosmetology. She worked for many years in the customer service field.

In the later years of her life, she found peace and renewal, living a transformed life in Greenwood, South Carolina, where she embraced new beginnings and continued to grow in faith and strength. She recommitted her life to Jesus and was baptized on October 29, 2023 at First Baptist Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC. She overcame life's challenges with grace and determination, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and courage.
