Doris Evonne Long Jennings

Mrs. Doris Evonne Jennings, 66, of Rock Hill SC, passed away on March 02, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center surrounded by her wonderful family.

Doris was born September 9, 1957, in Rock Hill SC, to the late Gus Long Sr. and the late Hattie Kirkland Long Whitlock.

Doris graduated in 1975 from Northwestern High School and briefly attended Winthrop College taking certification courses.  She was a member of Boyd Hill Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess.

She retired from Pruitt HealthCare in 2019 where she dedicated 40 years of her life working as a CNA caring for many patients and even many of your loved ones.

Doris’ favorite hobby was spending time with her “wonderful family” as she lovingly referred to them.  She was an avid game show watcher, enjoyed reading novels and journaling about her life.  She loved to watch her favorite soap operas “The Young & the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful and was fond of watching a variety of sports.  Since retiring, she developed a newfound hobby of online shopping.

Preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Michael Long, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband Wayne Jennings of 50 years; her 4 children Chelsea Jennings (Rock Hill); Richona Sullivan (Jevon) of Covington, GA; Wayne Jennings Jr. (Peggy) of Charlotte, NC; Christopher Jennings (Monique) Charlotte, NC; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Sister Cynthia Long, Stepsister Toni Faust: Brothers Gus Long Jr, Quinton Long, Stephone Long Sr. (Cynthia); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
