Edward “June” Byers, Jr.

Mr. Edward "June" Byers Jr., was born July 31, 1943 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Edward Byers Sr. and Emma Lee Brice Byers. He departed this life on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

He was educated in the Rock Hill public schools and was a graduate of Emmett Scott, class of 1963. He received his Associates Degree in Automotive Mechanics from York Technical College. He was a part of the United States Army.

He worked at JP Stevens until they closed. He was also employed and retired from Comporium. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee. He was also a member of AP&B Society Lodge #21.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Vanessa Gale Lowry.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife of 57 years, Hannah R. Byers; two sons, Derrick "Wayne" Byers, Darrell Byers (Katrina); three daughters, Annette Dunham (Rolland), Jackie Watson (Delton), Rita Smith; six grandchildren, LaShonda "Tootie" Reid, Justin Giles, Whitney Byrd, La'Keisha "KC" Byers, Shekinah Watson, Sakeria Bateman; four great-grandchildren, Kelci Roach, Kale "KJ" Roach, Breasia Hemphill, Kamyri Washington; one great-great grand-child, Kynnedi Sweatt; three sisters, Jeanette Byers, Mary Byers, Cora Lee Wilkes; one brother-in-law, Ira Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
