Ms. Ella Starr Dreakford of 1081 Bowser Street, Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away on July 16, 2026 at home. She was born December 10, 1942, in York County, SC to the late Robert L. Starr and Marry B. Starr.

In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosetta Starr, Emma Starr and Catherine Potts; two brothers, Robert L Starr and Jerry Starr.

Ella, attended Emmett Scott High School. At an early age she joined First Calvary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary, Choir member and a Deaconess. Ella also worked for the church's Senior Citizen Daycare and other organizations within the Church.

To provide for her family Ella worked at J.P. Stevenson Cotton Mill, RL Stowe Mills and Cones Mills. She later was a driver for the city of Rock Hill where she retired.

Left to cherish her memories, a daughter, Penny D. Catoe (Warren) of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Hammie W. Dreakford of Fort Mill, SC and John K. Drakeford (Sheila) of Catawba, SC; a sister, Ruth S. Wallace of Rock Hill, SC; four brothers, David Starr of Washington DC; Edmund Starr (Barbara) of Columbia, SC, Edward Starr and Howard Starr both of Rock Hill, SC; along with nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws and other relatives and friends.
