Garriett Knox, Sr.

Garriett Knox, Sr., was born on June 22, 1949, in Edgemoor, South Carolina to Mabel Knox and the late Louis Knox. He departed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by one brother, Fredrick Knox. He attended Emmett Scott High School, and later enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for two years. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he later drove trucks for Converse, and later, Distribution Technology. His passion was fishing. He was an amazing and selfless father and husband. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Venus Knox; his mother, Mabel Knox; five children, Garriett Knox, Jr., Crystal Lewis (Andre), Shante Knox, Donte Knox, and Tavon Knox; nine grandchildren; seven siblings, Jacqueline Cotton (John), Louis Knox, Jr., Stephanie Knox, Walker Knox (Susan), George Knox, Sylvia Knox Colvin (Isaiah), and Shawna Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
