Our beloved Geraldine Stewart Hemphill, 66 of 323 Greentree Drive, Rock Hill, South Carolina departed this earthly life on January 17, 2024, at her home. She was born on September 22, 1957, in Dillon, South Carolina along with her twin brother Gerald Stewart to Reverend John Martin Stewart and Evangelist Willie Mae Stewart. Geraldine attended public school in Dillon, SC. And was employed in the health and human services with Meadow Haven for over 30 years and additionally worked in the childcare industry. She entered marriage with her husband William Hemphill Sr. February 9th, 1991.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Rev. John & Evangelist Willie Mae Stewart, her son Samuel Stewart, two brothers, Julius Stewart, John Martin Stewart Jr. and two brother in laws, Walter Gayton, Charles Hemphill.
Geraldine was a loving and devoted wife who loved her family. She was a kindhearted and caring person who was always welcoming to anyone she encountered. She was a thoughtful and understanding friend. She will be missed dearly by all those who loved and knew her.
Geraldine leaves to cherish loving memories her devoted husband William Hemphill Sr.; Sons, William Hemphill Jr. (Shulekia), Lindsay Hemphill, and William Walker; daughter, Natosha Smith (Daniel); grandsons, Corbin Stewart, Nygil Mayfield, Jaquavius Hemphill, Darius Gainey, Joshua Moore, and Wisdom Walker; granddaughters, Kimaya Tillman, Natia Hemphill, Lindsay Hemphill, and Taylor Hemphill; brothers, Michael Stewart (Diane), Robert Stewart, Weldon Stewart (Tina), Calvin Stewart (Debra), Gerald Stewart, Donnie Stewart, James Stewart (Clara) and Shelton Stewart (Sonia); sisters, Queenie David, Mary McRae, Daisy Clayburn, Carolyn Rogers (William), and Ida Stewart; brothers-in-law, Harold Hemphill, James Hemphill (Patricia), and Marion Hemphill (Priscilla); sisters-in-law, Mary Walker, Phyllis Hemphill, and Sadie Gayton, a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The Hemphill family would like to give our humblest appreciation to all that were a part of this celebration of life for Geraldine Stewart Hemphill. Even in our hardest times you have all been consistently calling, coming by our home, making sure we are comforted in this time. We greatly appreciate you all for your thoughts and prayers. May the Lord God continue to enlarge you and your family. May a double portion of Love, Joy, Peace, Hope, Understanding and Wealth be added to you all.
