Hattie Campbell Gordon

On the beautiful day of May 21, 2025 an angel came down from Heaven to take Hattie "Carnell" Campbell Gordon home to Glory to receive her reward...

Hattie was born on May 18th, 1936 in York County. She is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Gordon, Sr. 61 years of marriage; her parents Robert "Love" Campbell and Pearl Fewell; daughter, Vanessa Campbell; as well as all her siblings.

She is a 1957 graduate of Emmett Scott High School. She worked for over 30 years for Dr. Jay and Leena Shah, Attomey Jane Randall and her family, and 20 plus years with Springs Mills. She was an active / loyal member of Cedar Grove A.M.E. Zion Church since her childhood (serving in various capacities to include a deaconess, president of the hymn choir, chairwoman of the kitchen committee, and class leader, most recently mother of the church until the time of her death. She enjoyed cooking, attending church functions, shopping "aka Goodwill" , traveling, and spending time with her

loved ones. Some of her favorite sayings were: "Do your best, look your best, and be your best;" "May the work that I have done speak for me;" and "Give me my flowers while I am living."

She leaves to morn two sister-in-laws, Julia M. Jones (Thomas) of Dacula, GA; and Joann Gordon of Rock Hill. Five sons, Donnie Mahaga Campbell of Beaufort, SC; Edward Gordon (Denise) of Lancaster, SC; Von F. Gordon (Nedra), Torrance E. Gordon; and Lonnie Gordon, Jr. (Apolonia) all of Rock Hill. She also has one daughter, Frances L. Gaines (Anthony) of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews (whom she and her family could ALWAYS depend on /and will forever be grateful for.)

Her life was dedicated to serving Christ. She song powerful praises unto God as an expression of Faith. Reflecting his love and teachings. A beacon of life throughout the community. She has left behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love that has touch countless lives.

SHE WILL BE MISSED, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!
