Ida Bell Harris Gaston

Mrs. Ida Bell Harris Gaston entered into rest on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Brookview Health Center in Gaffney, SC. Born in Chester County, SC on January 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late George and Sadie Harris.

Ida confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church then later joined Trinity Baptist Church of Rock Hill, SC where she served on the choir. She was educated in the public schools of Chester County. Ida worked at Lando Elementary and Finley High School. She worked at Gaston Car Wash on Saluda in Rock Hill, SC.

Ida loved music and dancing. To know her was to love her.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Gaston, sisters and brothers; Sadie Harris, Mattie Lou Stevenson, Georgia Mae Gaston, Margie Gilles, Mary Elizabeth Jordan, James Harris, Will Harris, Jessie Harris, and Charles Harris.

Ida leaves her love and care to her family, her loving devoted niece, Tawan Harris (Gee-Gee); one sister, Martha Mae Gaston of Chester, SC; one brother, Thomas Harris of Concord, NC; special friends, Minister Alonya Smith, Kenny and Maxine Cauthen all of Rock Hill, SC and Dorothy Dixon; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
