Ida Lee Hope, 89, or Rock Hill South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Ida was the oldest of six siblings. She was born in York County to the late John and Rosa Baxter. She was a textile worker until she retired. After retirement she volunteered helping the elderly and was an avid gardener. She won countless awards for her flowers and yard. She enjoyed crocheting and doing puzzles. She was a member of Boyd Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended Sunday school and sung on the Sanctuary choir.
Ida is preceded in death by her husband, James Willie"Dick" Hope, her daughter, Dale Clarke (Rawlins), her grandchildren, Al Coleman and Kajsa Coleman, her parents, John and Rosa Baxter, her brothers, John Baxter, Jr. (Dorothy), Rosevelt Baxter (Berry), and James Baxter (Denita).
Ida leaves to cherish fond memories her daughters, Janette Wilmore (Curtis) and Diane Foster (Tommy); her grandchildren, Jamel Ruff (Barbara), Sharles Coleman, Chesia Coleman, Kimalyn Jennings, SaVonna Cunningham (Darryl), Glenn "PJ" Jennings, Jr., Dana Keith (Jonathan), Tia Hope, Kenya Nelson (Tomorrow), James W. Hope and Charles Hope; her forty-six great-grandchildren and thirty-three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Fannie Hunt (Pride) and Emma B. Thompson (Carl); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
