James Otis “Woochee” Bailey

Mr. James Otis Lewis Bailey “Woochee” was born on July 27, 1947 to the late Odell Bailey and Janie E. McMullen Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert (Hawk, Mamiloo) McMullen and Willie Lee (Da Da) Bailey.

James attended the public schools of Rock Hill and Emmett Scott High School.

James was a two tour U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and received a purple heart and other awards. James also attained the rank of sergeant. He loved to dance and was a conversa-tionalist, and was known as the “professor.” He was a Raiders fan and liked attending basketball games.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Tracy Brooks Bailey of Lancaster, SC. Two step daughters, Erin B. Aladana of Lancaster, SC and Summer Brooke Clinton of Ft. Leonard, MO. Four grandchildren Cali, Ana, and Malorie Al-dana of the home, and LeQuan Bullock, Jr. of Rock Hill SC. James is survived by three siblings, Odell (Barbara) Bailey Jr., Thomas P. Bailey of Rock Hill SC, and Peggy Ann Bailey of Rock Hill, SC. Seven sisters in laws, Kay B. (Joe) Harris, Linda D. Brooks of Baltimore, MD, Angela C. Brooks of Pikesville, MD, Annie B. Lathan, Nancy B. Benson, Kathy B. Johnson, and Dwana B. (Ricky) Duncan all of Lancaster, SC. A long time friend of 65 years, Arthur C. “Jimmy” (Earlene) Ervin. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
