Mr. James "Chicken" Randal Gillispie, 67, of Rock Hill, SC passed away February 24, 2025, after doing what he loved most, carrying the message to the sick and suffering. He was born July 21, 1958, in Mooresville, NC to the late Johnny Pinkston and Patricia Anne Gillispie.
James attended school in Mooresville, NC where he graduated from Mooresville
Senior High. He obtained his first job at Cascade Manufacturing during high school and shortly after graduating he went to Duke Power as an electrician, retiring in 2019.
James had a passion for fishing, being of service to the elderly and AA, talking and
spending time with his family. He was certainly heard before seen and never complained.
James had a distinctive voice giving him the opportunity to do voice overs as well as two short movies being the main star in "What you Gotta Do." He also had a passion for service work and would help anyone he could by carrying the message to the AA.
James was preceded in death by his sister Teresa Gillispie, son Maurice Robinson
and Grandson Zyonir Thomas.
Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Tracy Robinson of Rock Hill, SC; children, Shenekia Robinson and Travis Robinson both of Rock Hill, SC; sisters Rev. Geraldine Seagraves of Greensboro, NC, Kimberly Westmoreland of Mooresville, NC; brother, Maurice Westmoreland of Mooresville, NC; tree grandchildren, Ziontra' Robinson and Justus Thomas of Rock Hill, SC and Xyoneik Robinson of Hampton, VA; nephews, Tyrone Seagraves and Jamone Gillispie of Greensboro, NC, and Kyjuan Westmoreland of Mooresville, NC; niece, Eboney Seagraves of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Izarah Seagraves of Greensboro, NC.
We will miss his famous saying "Top of the morning I'm truly blessed and highly favored." He always said, "I'd rather be seen than viewed," but now he's being remembered forever more.
