Joshua Richard McIver was born on May 5, 198, in Plano, Texas, to Diane McIver and the late Randy McIver. He passed away in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on September 29, 2026, at the age of 39.

Josh graduated summa cum laude from York Technical College in 2017, earning an associate degree and a certification in welding. Some of his favorite hobbies were gaming and disc golf. He loved working with his hands and was always eager to learn new skills, from cabinetmaking and car maintenance to landscaping. Josh was known for his sharp wit, kind heart, and willingness to drop everything to help someone in need. If someone needed a hand, Josh was there.

There are simply not enough words in the English language to fully capture the kind of person Josh was or the impact he had on the lives of those around him. His humor, kindness, and generous spirit made him someone truly special to those who knew and loved him.

Josh is survived by his mother, Diane; his sister, Heather, and her husband, Steven; and his niece, Victoria. He was preceded in death by his father, Randy.

A celebration of Josh’s life is tentatively planned for December 2026.

Josh was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend who touched the lives of so many. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed, today and always.
