J'Quavious "Quay" Darrell Walker

Ja’Quavious “Quay” Darrell Walker was born December 28,1996 in York County, South Carolina to Mattie Walker. He was blessed with Bonus parents Jarrod and Vernadine Patterson who raised him from a baby. He transitioned into his New Life on June 28,2024. He was proceeded in death by grandfather Kenneth Hinton and grandparents; Sam Roseborough (Jessie Mae), Willie Hinton (Mattie B.).

Ja’Quavious “Quay” Darrell Walker attended Northwestern High School where he graduated in 2015. He enjoyed playing football where he earned Stat Leader Rankings. Ja’Quavious was ranked in the top 66 in Division AAAA for 1 stat, top 17 in AAAA Region III for 1 stat. He continued his love for sports at Rock Hill Gymnastics where he coached for 4 years. He was employed by Harrell Industries for 10 years.

He was a member of Vision & Beyond Christian Ministry. He was a humble young man that was love by many. A great son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was full of love, compassion, and joy.

Quay possessed many talents. He loved to dance, sing, rap and spend time with family and friends. He became known as the official “Family DJ”. His hobbies were posting to TikTok, where he had over a million views. To know him was to love him .

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved mother, Mattie Walker; his wonderful grandparents/parents, Vernadine & Jarrod Patterson; sisters: Janiya Walker, and Ja’Quala Walker; special aunt, Bonita Walker Sicard (James); uncle, Kenneth Walker (Laporcha); god-sister, Mya McCrea; the Sherwoods were his second family; Jeff Sherwood (Mary), bonus brother (Nick), bonus sister (Christina). additional special friends were Frances Wherry (mom) and Makayla McCrea (sister); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was surrounded by a company of people that cared for him dearly. To know him was to love him.
