On October 5, 2023, Our beloved mother, Julia Jones transitioned to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born on September 17, 1945 to the late Pastor Robert Moore and Helen Moore. She was preceded in death by her brothers James Moore, Walter Moore, Harold Moore and her sister Janice Hamright.
She leaves behind to cherish her beloved two sisters: Elaine Ashford and Geraldine Ashford followed by her four children: Sonya (Donald) McCrorey, Robert (Corenetta) Jones Jr., Trina Hill, and Trent (Patricia) Moore. Her legacy continues to live on through her seven grandchildren: Charnice Jones, Courtney McCrorey, Sade Moore, Elder Robert Jones III, Derricia Hill, Dajah McCrorey, and Cadence Moore. She was also blessed with two great grandchildren: Jalea Jones and Serenity Hughes, and two special God children Pastor Connie Richmond and Aisha Moore. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews that were all dear to her heart.
Julia Jones was a entrepreneur with many talents including being a hairstylist, a caterer, a caregiver for the adult and children, a decorator, a florist, and a seamstress. She was truly a Jack of all trades who was extremely talented. In her spare time she loved working on puzzles, playing bingo, watching old westerns hallmark and kung foo movies, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. She valued her family and family dynamics were very important to her. If you needed anything she was a call away and she knew everyone. During the holidays she was the cook preparing her famous dishes that only she could make.
You taste her cream corn and sweet potatoes and you instantly knew who made it.
The Christmas holidays was her favorite time of the year. Every room in her apartment was decorated and you could feel the Christmas spirit the moment you stepped into her home. Every holiday she made sure each household had a sweet potato and pecan pie. She may have been unable to work but she would go to the center and play bingo and bring home the big prizes to give away as Christmas gifts. Family was important but nothing was more important than her faith and following Gods word. She grew up in the Church Of God Of Prophecy where she later served as a mother. As the Mother of the church she opened the church with prayer and sung hymns every Sunday. Julia Jones was truly a gift from God a rare being that we have had the honor to have as our Matriach. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten
