Ms. Kitt “Teenchie” Gettys White of 713 Patriot Parkway, Apt. 604, Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of October 7, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born on October 27, 1966, at York County General Hospital to Ms. Maggie Heath and Mr. James Jordan.
She was educated in the public schools of York County and attended Rock Hill High School, where she was a member of the Marching Band and played the clarinet. Kitt joined New Mt. Oliver A.M.E. Zion Church at a very young age, where she sand with the Youth Choir. She later joined and was baptized at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended other churches in the Rock Hill area.
Kitt was a beautiful songbird who could sing like an angel. She, along with her cousin, Mr. Jim “Red” Simpson, June Barnette, and the Stars of Zion, would sing at many churches here in Rock Hill and surrounding areas.
She leaves to cherish all of her precious memories, her children, T’Arria Sharon Gettys (Albert Hughes) of Rock Hill, SC, La’Quishia Chion Blackmon (Demarcus Blackmon), and James Jermarlon White, both of Lancaster, SC; six grandchildren, La’Zarria Anna White, Ryan X’Zavier Semaj Hughes, James Thomas White, Alayna Sky Blackman, William Eli Blackman, and Lillie Noelle Blackman; her mother, Maggie B. Heath of Rock Hill; her father, James Jordan (Melvina) of Pittsburgh, PA; five sisters, Omarel “Myra” Gettys of Rock Hill, SC, Tanya Maxey of Columbus, GA, Clarissa Jordan, Carrie Jordan, and Trayshon Jordan, all of Pittsburgh, PA; four brothers, Danny Anderson (Helen) of Charlotte, NC, Tony Wynn, and James Brown, both of Pittsburgh, PA, and Leander Jordan of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
