On Monday, March 31, 2025, Larry E. Gilmore a loving husband, father, and brother peacefully completed his earthly journey at the age of 74.
Larry was born on January 26, 1951, in York County to the late Janie Mae Gilmore and Hope Gilmore, Jr.
Larry attended public schools. He was employed by Fort Mill Church of God for many years. He also drove trucks for several years before he later retired.
Larry embraced life with an open heart. He loved fishing, talking, and having fun with family and friends. He enjoyed sitting around telling stories about the old days. He was a man that loved taking care of things that was special to him. He enjoyed keeping his cars clean and working in his yard. And most of all, he was a man that loved his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Malinda Gilmore, his mother, Janie Mae Gilmore, his father, Hope Gilmore, Jr., his brother, John E. Crockett, and sister, Sedelia A. Richardson.
Larry’s legacy of love and kindness lives on in those he cherished deeply. Left to carry on his memory in their hearts are his daughters, Stephanie Smith Conklin of GA, Shedelia Blair (Willie) of NC, Sharon Gilmore of Fort Mill, Natasha Douglas (Derrick) of Rock Hill, Nikiki Douglas of Rock Hill; sister, Deborah Gilmore of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Rev. Willie McClurkin; nine grandchildren, De’Anna Beeks, Stephen Smith, Bianca Gilmore, Biasia Roberts, Quan Blair, Tyrice Blair, NiDerrica Massey, Janisha Douglas, and Keljahiah Foster, three great-grandchildren, Makaila Gilmore, Dacori Beeks, Tevarus Halsey III “Tre”; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
