Ms. Lillie Ann Witherspoon gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the home of her daughter and son in law, Angela and Kevin Sharpe. Ms. Lillie Ann Witherspoon was born on February 11, 1951, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Ivory “Bro” and Mrs. Viola Edwards Witherspoon. She was preceded in death by her sisters; Mrs. Emma Lee Patton and Ms. Debbie Witherspoon and one brother; Mr. William Witherspoon.
Ms. Lillie Ann was a proud graduate of Emmett Scott High Class of 1969. She retired from the United States Postal Service, with 30 years of service. She decided to return to school, and graduated from Clinton College in 2016, with a Bachelor’sDegree in Religious Studies and graduated summa cum laude. In 2018, she received a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Clinton College. In her spare time, Lillie loved traveling with her sisters and spending time with her family. Lillie was a faithful member of Foundation A.M.E. Zion Church, where she joined at an early age and gave her life to Christ. She was a Deaconess, President of the WHOMS, Life Matron of the Life Members Council, Life Member of the Connectional Lay Council, Member of the Mass Choir, and an Usher. She was an Usher with the Rock Hill District and South Carolina Conference of the A.M.E. Zion Church.
Lillie leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories her devoted daughters, Mrs. Angela (Kevin) Sharpe of Rock Hill, SC and Adrianne N. Witherspoon of Fort Mill, SC.; two grandsons, Jarvis D. Petty of Rock Hill, SC and Dajuan R. Truesdale of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Lola Jones of Rock Hill, SC; twin grandbabies on the way; two great-grandsons, Saint I. Truesdale of Charlotte, NC and Caiden J. Petty of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Stephens of North Babylon, NY, Mrs. Jean (John) Cromartie of Clarkton, NC, and Mrs. Juanita (Cornell) Chestnut of Flushing, NY; two brothers, Mr. James Witherspoon and Mr. Jeffery Witherspoon (Barbara) both of Rock Hill, SC; special niece, who was raised like a sister, Edith “Flo” Trappier of Rock Hill, SC; one goddaughter, who was the apple of her eye, Nihkitah (Omar) Wilson of Fort Mill, SC; nine god grandchildren; Carrie Culp, Chastidy McClary, Alaysia McClary, Corian Culp, Logan Williams, Ky’Jour Leach, Ky’asia Leach, Ja’kiyah Smith– Harris, and Ivey Whitlock; two best friends; Ms. Deanna Taylor of Jamacia, NY and Ms. Danice Vance of Rock Hill, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
