Malik Javon Wherry of Rock Hill, South Carolina was born on July 18, 2000. He departed his earthly life on July 23, 2024. He is the beloved son of Erika Monique Wherry (Keydrick Coley) and William Wherry, Jr. (Monica Bulos).
He is the grandson of Curtis and Althea Hayden and the late William and Barbara Wherry, and the great-grandson of Marian Myers.
Malik graduated from Rock Hill High, Class of 2018. He worked as a Manager at Food Lion in Rock Hill, SC and most recently as a Produce Manager at the Neighborhood Wal-Mart in Pineville, NC.
Malik, a 24-year-old young man, was the epitome of love and cherished dearly by his family. With a heart full of warmth and an uplifting spirit, he brought immense joy to every room he entered. His infectious laughter and compassionate nature made him a beacon of happiness for his loved ones. Malik possessed a remarkable ability to empathize with others. With his ambitious nature and determination, he strived to excel in his professional endeavors, making his family beam with pride. His unwavering love and loyalty made Malik the pillar of their family, a true blessing they cherished with all their hearts.
Malik loved music and animals, and he loved to swim. He had a “green thumb” and had a collection of all types of plants. He also had a gift with anything pertaining to art.
Left to cherish his memory are brothers Makhi Wherry, Makari Wherry, and Josiah Wherry; sisters, Kamryn Short and Cheyenne Wherry; aunts, Diana Page, Laura Wherry, Shawnte Hughes (William), and Brittany Hayden; uncles, Gary Haley, James Page, and Steven Hayden; and a host of extended family including great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
