Malinda J. Boyd

d. November 13, 2024

Ms. Malinda Jane Boyd, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13th, at Atrium Medical Center following a brief illness.

A 1975 graduate of Rock Hill High School, Malinda earned an associate degree from York Technical College in 1977 and continued her studies at Winthrop University.

As a devoted member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, she served faithfully in many roles, including choir member, Sunday School teacher, Secretary of Sunday School, and Youth Director.

Malinda was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend who greeted everyone with a warm smile. Known for her compas-sion, she also cared for aging family members. She worked for many years at the Herald Newspaper, where her coworkers be-came extended family. In her spare time, she enjoyed singing, crafting, floral arrangements, and phone conversations.

Preceded in death by her father, Randolph Boyd, and daughter, Andrenna Celeste Boyd, she is lovingly remembered by her son, Adrian (Anitra) Boyd; her mother, Ella Jane Boyd; her sisters, Johnnie Mae Ragsdale and Rebecca Barnes; her aunts, Idelle Duncan, Mildred Smith, and Elizabeth Boyd; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church family.
