Mr. Marcus D’Wayne Freeman, who was born on April 7, 1982, to Queen Welch Freeman and George Freeman, Sr., in Rock Hill, SC. On Saturday April 18, 2026, Marcus made his eternal transition from this earthly life leaving his loving impact on a host of people that will forever carry him in their hearts
Early in his youth Marcus confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized and became a lifelong member of Mt. Do-Well Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and enjoyed playing video games, watching sports, cooking and spending much quality time with his family and friends.
Known for his love of college basketball (UNC Tarheels), college football (Miami Hurricanes) and the Dallas Cowboys as a young boy, every morning before leaving home for school he would have to turn on the television and get his daily fix of SportsCenter. This love for sports would follow him into his adulthood years. Being around Marcus meant the best of times through lively debates on sports, basic issues concerning life and most of all his loud and infectious laugh that was guaranteed to come after every sentence that he spoke. His love and dedication to his sons, family, and those that he considered his friends were unwavering and he never was hesitant to let you know how he felt about any situation or topic.
Marcus had a vibrant personality and a love for life. He will be remembered for his love, his laughter, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest easy in the peace and power of our almighty God Marcus, your life has not ended but has just truly begun!
Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Willie Bell White, and his paternal grandmother, Annie Bell Freeman, along with a host of aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his parents, Queen Freeman and George Freeman, Sr. (Rosa Maria); his beloved children, Keyshawn Freeman (Keyshiya), D’Markus Freeman, and D’Marri Freeman; and his treasured grandchildren, Kashton Freeman, Kaidree Freeman, and Khloe Freeman. His sisters, Patrice “Trelle” Boulware, Shawn Freeman (Jamel), Shirteashia Freeman, Ashley McCrorey (Derrick), and Portia Chisolm-McClain (Jarod); his brothers, Adrian Robinson, George Freeman, Jr. (Latoya), and David “DJ” Chisolm; his companion, Brittany Hutchison; his aunts, Willie Mae Pryor, Evelyn Marshall, Mary Neal (Harry), Barbara Neely, Essie Mae Watson (Lex), Trula White, Shirley Freeman and Janice Thompson; his uncles, Robert Welch (Lula), George Robinson and Tony Freeman, Sr. (Artavia); six nieces, nine nephews who he loved dearly and a host of loving great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends who will deeply miss him.
