Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Kennington Frye

Mary Elizabeth Kennington Frye, affectionately known as "Lib," was born on June 9, 1940, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late William Robert Kennington and Effie Carpenter Kennington. On Friday, October 13, 2023, she departed from this world at the age of 83.

Lib's journey began with a strong educational foundation, having graduated from Rock Hill High School. She dedicated her career to serving others, working at both Winn Dixie and Winthrop College, leaving an indelible mark on those she encountered.

In the course of her life, Lib faced the unimaginable loss of her daughter, Jennifer Frye, as well as her three brothers: Johnny Kennington, William Walter Kennington, and Keith Raymond Kennington. Their memories remain forever etched in her heart.

Lib is survived by two nephews, Steve and Lynn Kennington, and Brad and Ginger Kennington. Her nurturing spirit and love will live on through them, a testament to the profound impact she had on her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Rock Hill Christian Church at PO Box 36414, Rock Hill, SC 29732, where Lib's legacy will continue to shine through the community she held dear.
