Mary L. Brice Mccoy

Mrs. Mary Brice McCoy, 92, of 1063 Barrow Court. Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 18th at Post Acute Care of Rock Hill South Carolina.

Mary, affectionately known as Gena, was born in Rock Hill to the late Wade Thomas Brice and Gussie Cunningham Brice on July 3, 1932.

Gena was educated in the public schools of York County, she, attended Emmett Scott High School and was an active member of St. Matthew AME Zion Church.

She was married to Mr. Henry Lee McCoy on July 8, 1972, until the time of his death.

Gena was also a member of various gospel choirs, including the St. Matthew Hymn choir, and an active member (until her health prevailed) of Unity Electa Chapter #1, Order of The Eastern Stars.

She was retired from the Rock Hill School District.

Gena was preceded in death by her parents Wade and Gussie Brice, her husband, Mr. Henry McCoy, three brothers, Chalmers Brice, James Thomas Brice, and Leroy Mobley, one sister: Dianne Glover, and 2 sisters-in-laws, Ethel M Brice, and Sarah D Brice.

Gena loved her church, her church family, and her immediate family.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her brother Benny F, Brice (Lee), those whom she raised; Kenny Stratford, Rickey Gaines, Morris Brice (Patricia), and Shureka Thorne (Wandrell), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
