The family will receive friends at 1222 Stanley Dr., Rock Hill, SC. Mr. Nathaniel M. Jaggers was born on May 4, 1934, in York County, South Carolina, to the late Spencer and Irene Jaggers. He departed this life on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Piedmont Medical Center. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie S. Jaggers; brothers, Spencer Jaggers, Jr., Willie Jaggers, Moses Jaggers, Lincoln Jaggers, and Elijah Jaggers; and sisters, Maggie Jackson and Rosie Reid. Nathaniel attended Emmett Scott High School. After High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he faithfully served his country for 19 years. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he worked for Celanese for 20 years on the grounds crew. He was a member of St. Matthew A.M.E. Zion Church, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, and Adult Hymn Choir Leader. He was active with the NAACP, Flint Hill Community Organization, Weed and Seed of Rock Hill, and Project Hope. He was devoted to his loved ones and to his organizations. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Nathaniel is survived by his beloved sister, Ruth J. Scott; sister-in-law, Ella Jaggers; nephews, Ronald Jackson (Dorothy) and James Jackson (Mary); niece, Deloris Degree (James) of Suitland, MD; and a host of other nephews and nieces.
