Obituary

Nora Jean Gaither, born on June 25, 1948, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Quincy B. Gaither and Moses C. Gaither, passed away on August 24, 2026, at Rock Hill Post Acute Care Center. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, strength, and cherished memories.

Nora attended Emmett Scott School and earned her GED. She worked at Piedmont Medical Center, Magnolia Manor, Winthrop University, and as a cook at Ryan's, among other places.

She was the beloved wife of Ronald Trueheart and a devoted mother who also opened her home to others in need. As the eldest of twelve siblings, caring for family was her nature. She took pride in being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, niece, sister, and friend. She often brought everyone together, creating moments that became treasured memories. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to her, and watching her family grow brought her great joy.

Nora's personality was unforgettable-sassy, strong-willed, and sometimes a little bossy, yet honest and outspoken. Beneath her tough exterior was a deeply loving woman who genuinely cared for those around her. She had a natural gift for making people feel comfortable and welcomed.

During her stay at Rock Hill Post Acute Care Center, she formed a special bond with the staff, who showed her kindness, compassion, patience, and support. Her family is grateful for their care, which became an important part of her final chapter.

Nora's life was centered on the people she loved and the lives she touched. She truly gave her time, strength, home, and heart generously. Her lessons, laughter, and spirit will live on through the family and friends she leaves behind.
