Paula Marie Barber

Paula Marie Barber (née Rankin), 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on March 8, 2024. She was born on June 7, 1944, in York, South Carolina to Paul and Geraldine Rankin.

Paula was a very intelligent, outspoken, and beautiful woman. She was known for her sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude. She found peace tending to her garden and baking her mother's famous recipes. Her daughters were her world, and her grandson held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her daughters, Ingrid Boderick (son-in-law Kevin Boderick) of Charlotte, NC, and Erika Barber, along with her grandson Joaquin Jones of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Grant of York, SC; nephews Graham "Sonny" Mcleod of Clover, SC; Mark Love of Tega Cay, SC; nieces Tisha Floyd of York, SC; Ashley Love of Fort Mill, SC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Paula had a fulfilling career as a Postal Carrier with the United States Postal Service and held various administrative positions in different companies. She retired from the South Carolina Board of Disabilities in Rock Hill, SC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Kidney Fund.

Paula will be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking, sewing, and her generosity towards others. She enjoyed shopping and watching football. Paula's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
