Pearline Adams Long

Sep 23, 1960 — Sep 17, 2026

Rock Hill, SC

Pearline “Pearl” Adams Long was born to the late Henry Sr. and Mildred Adams in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Pearl was the youngest of nine children.

Pearl transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Friday, September 17, 2026, at Novant Health Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Pearl attended the public schools in York County and was a proud graduate of Rock Hill High School. She learned her culinary skills from her mother and worked for 27 years as the Head Cook at White Oak Manor Assisted Living Facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She resigned in 2004 when her health declined.

Pearl was a very proud member of Rock Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was an active participant in several organizations and ministries. She served with the Parent Body Missionary Society, Spiritual Choir (Secretary), RG Choir (Treasurer), Adult Sunday School Class, and Kitchen Committee. She also served as the past Secretary (Leader) of the Youth Missionary Society.

Pearl had a heart for serving others. She coordinated several outreach projects with the youth, including delivering hygiene products to White Oak Manor and Family Promise, as well as placing blessing bags in the blessing boxes throughout the Rock Hill community. Through her service, Pearl demonstrated her love for others in practical and meaningful ways.

To know Pearl was to love Pearl. She leaves behind a legacy of LOVE. Pearl was always willing to help others whenever she could, and she greeted people with a sweet smile that made them feel special and welcomed. She loved spending time with her family and cared for her nieces and nephews as though they were her own children. Her kindness, warm spirit, and willingness to serve will be deeply missed by her loving family and the Rock Grove A.M.E. Zion Church family.

Pearl found joy in the simple things that made life special. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching her favorite soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” and cheering on her favorite football team, “Those Dallas Cowboys.” Most of all, Pearl cherished time with her family and the relationships that brought her joy.

Preceding her in death and welcoming her into Heaven are her brothers, Tommy Walls, Henry Adams, Jr., and Jessie L. Adams.

Pearl is survived by her sisters, Brenda Adams-Beard of Rock Hill, SC, and Cecelia Adams of Charlotte, NC; her brothers, Willie L. Adams and Nathaniel Adams, both of Rock Hill, SC, and Reverend David Adams of Baltimore, MD; her aunts, Lena Porter and Juanita Crosby Barnette, both of Rock Hill, SC; her uncle, Samuel Crosby (Patricia) of Rock Hill, SC; her nephew, Darryl Adams, who she helped raise and loved very much; and a host of nieces and nephews.
