Mr. Rickey Dean Heath passed away Friday, March 22, 2024.
Rickey Dean Heath was born to Georgia Mildred Heath on June 28, 1955, her only son and youngest of three children. He was educated in the Rock Hill Public School System before serving in the U.S. Army. He later met and married Jeannette Gaines with whom he shares a son, D’Artangon.
Georgia worked hard to instill in her children a deep sense of love for God, family, and people. Rickey exemplified this love as he built strong relationships with his family, always there to uplift and support each one during their times of need and always popping in and out of each one’s home just to show he cared. Rickey never met a stranger and made friends easily, including one of his closest friendships in his final years with Kelvin Singleton, who wrote a poem especially for Rickey.
Though the last two years of his life were an epic battle with illness, Rickey never let his illness keep him from living his life or spending time with the people he loved and who loved him. He was most proud of his son D’Artangon with who he was able to visit in Washington State this past summer. For weeks after, he excitedly spoke of nothing else.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, D’Artangon Davis (Andrea) of Dupont, Washington, grandson Ian, sisters Ella Heath and Dian Heath, his niece, Kysha Darlene Heath, his aunt, Margaret Gayten, close cousin, Margaret Ree Cloud, his special friend Henrietta Thompson, best friend Kelvin Singleton, and a host of other friends and loving family members.
Following the funeral, the family will receive guests at the home of Margaret Ree Cloud at 156 Winterberry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
