Roger Hayes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Born on December 31, 1957, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ida Mae Brown and Oscar Hayes.
Roger was a proud and loving brother to the late Sylvester Adams, Oscar Hayes Jr. (wife Jackie), and his cherished baby sister, Angela Settles (husband Ernest). Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he deeply loved his daughters, Ida Altrinia Roget' Hope Hayes and Shana Culp. He was a proud grandfather to Jy'Rice, Shy'Onna, and Brai'Lan Culp, and a devoted step-grandfather to Jasmine, Jalyn, and Antwan Jarrett.
Roger shared 25 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Phyllis Hayes. Their bond was a true testament to enduring love and loyalty through life's many seasons.
He served in the United States Army for eight years, where he discovered his passion for cooking-skills that would become a source of joy for those around him. Whether working the grill or sharing a good laugh, Roger had a magnetic personality. He was known for his sense of humor, his generous heart, and his remarkable ability to light up every room he entered
Roger was loved deeply and will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His memory will forever live on in our hearts, and his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
