Mr. Ronald William Pendergrass was born on July 7, 1947, in Rock Hill, South Carolina to the late James Pendergrass and Dorothy Barnette Pendergrass. He departed this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Pendergrass, Michael "Mickey" Pendergrass; mother-in-law, Lucille Barber; and father-in-law, Robert Moise.
He graduated from Emmett Scott High School in 1965 and went on to attend Friendship Junior College and Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, where he received his bachelor's degree in education. He later attended Clinton Junior College. He taught in the Colleton County School District for thirty years and retired from Walterboro High School.
Upon retirement, Ronald relocated to Rock Hill and was employed with The Meat Room for ten years. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. His hobbies included watching his beloved New England Patriots, listening to music and watching westerns.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Belinda Barber-Pendergrass of the home; three daughters, Tequilia Barber, and Danasha Cloud, both of Rock Hill and Nyrisha Anderson of Knoxville, TN; ten grandchildren, one whom he adored, granddaughter, Karlyee Jennings; one great-grandchild; two nephews, Marcus Pendergrass (April) of San Antonio, TX and Brent Pendergrass (Latoya) of Rock Hill; two sisters-in-law, Alice Pendergrass of Rock Hill and Laquanta Richardson of Columbia, SC; five brothers-in-law, Dennis Barber (Kathy), Terry Barber, and Tavares Barber, all of Rock Hill, Edward Moise and Vincent Moise, both of Charlotte, NC; four best friends, Herman Lee White of Walterboro, SC, Wyman Henderson, Edmund Franklin, and Steve McCollum, all of Rock Hill; and a host of cousins and friends.
