Ruby H. Simpson entered this life March, 15, 1941 and gained her wings on October, 18th, 2025.
Ruby attended Emmett Scott High Class of 1959. She continued her education at York Technical College and graduated from Winthrop University. After completing her education, she worked for the State of South Carolina York County Board of Disabilities leading up to her retirement after twenty years.
A profound Zionite, Ruby was a dedicated member of New Mt. Olivet A.M.E Zion Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Christians Board of Education, she was the director of New Mt. Olivet Zion Children’s Choir, Lay council, Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society, Intergenerational Choir. She has served as an advisor for the Children and Youth Choirs, and class leader. She enjoyed singing in the N.M.O adult choir, and the Rock Hill Ecumenical choir. Her love for God was greater than great, however she also enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending much time with her family and friends. In her very own words, “God is pleased and truly satisfied.”
Proceeding her in death was her mother, Hattie Heath, father, Willie Heath, husband, Ernest L. Simpson, brothers, Willie, Jr., Leander, Johnny, Charles Heath, and her sister Mae Fannie Rankin.
She leaves behind her sisters, Maggie Heath, Celia Hardin, Dorothy Nelson; her son, Harold G. Heath (Mary); her daughters, Yolanda White (Scott), Melissa Simpson (Miguel); grandchildren, Gerald Robinson, Anquan Heath (KeeKee), Travis Heath, Sheteaka Berry, Ashley Heath, and ErNisheya White; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
