Sadie White Cathcart

Mrs. Sadie White Cathcart was born on October 24, 1943, in Chester County, South Carolina, and peacefully departed this life on August 11, 2025.

She was educated in the Chester County School System and attended Finley Senior High School. In the 10th grade, she left school, later married, and began her family. Although the marriage ended in divorce, she lovingly and faithfully raised her five children on her own.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Flint Hill Baptist Church. She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, and she remained steadfast in her faith until her passing. Her love of singing was inspired by her mother, recalling memories of her humming in the cotton fields and singing in the kitchen.

She worked at Piedmont Medical Center for 35 years before retiring, a testament to her dedication and work ethic.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved sisters: Frances Wylie, Mattie Pride of Charlotte, NC, Louise Brown, Lola Dunham, Lela Rollins, and Marcella Blake; and by her brothers, James White and Roosevelt White.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Pearline McLendon (Robert), and her sister-in-law, Lillie White; she also leaves behind her devoted life partner, James Gill of York, SC, and her loving children: Rachel Love (Johnny), Rickey White (Pauline), Lesa Cathcart, Marvin Cathcart (Cearia), and Donald White; Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Trilishia Cathcart, Ieshia Love, Dorian Barnes of Columbia, SC, Topaze Nelson, Sectrina (Damian) of Atlanta, GA, Ellison Serina Howard, Symone Currence, Wanto Wherry, Aldrick Cathcart of Charlotte, NC, Hope Mitchell, Jr., Jolesa Mitchell, Shemeka Mitchell, Adrian Leach, Shamario Wilson, Dominique Cathcart of Baltimore, MD, Syklar Cathcart, Taneka Thompson, Sheneka Whitlock, Donna White, Symone Simpson, Donald White, Jr and Divine Cureton of Charlotte, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
