Obituary

Sam Robinson (affectionately known as Cheese) was born October 19, 1955 to the late Sarah Able and David Robinson.

On May 14,2026, Sam went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Kevin (Nanna) and Willie (Handsome) Robinson.

Sam was born in Chester, South Carolina and grew up in Rock Hill. At a young age, he married his best friend, Phyllis Ann.

Throughout the years, there were good and rough times, but they always had each other and remained best friends. Together, they raised two children, but he thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids and great grandkids. Sam was a great man and provider to many. He would always help anyone in need. He always put his family and friends ahead of himself. Sam loved playing cards and fishing. He made fishing trips to Canada and Alaska.

At an early age, Sam and his brother Paul ran into Sonny. Sam was hired as his first full time employee. Sonny and Sam together ran Adkins Oil Burner Service. The company grew and became Adkins Heating & Cooling with the help of Sam partnering with Sonny. He was an employee of the company for over 45 years, but even more an Adkins family member.

Sonny's wife, Billie called Sam her son and more than once told Sonny to leave her son alone! Sam was a hardworking man dedicated to whatever he did. After retirement, Sam continued to help his customers with their heating and cooling needs. His customers loved him dearly.

Sam was a light hearted man with jokes he thought was funny.

We all knew to laugh so we could hear his laughter. Sam always wore a smile. Sam had two families his blood related family and the Adkins. He was well loved and admired Sam will be dearly missed by his wife, Phyllis, children Shaquita Robinson, Santonio Robinson, and Jahkendra Tatum.

Sam is survived by his brothers, Paul & James Franklin Robinson and his sister Sarah Watson. Also, he is survived by Aunt, second mother, Maggie Houze, Uncle James Dickerson (Aunt Ann May, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Many thanks to those who helped Sam and the family during this difficult time.
