On April 4, 2025, Sammy Lee Roseborough passed away. He was born on October 12, 1961, to the late Sam Roseborough (Jessie Mae). He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Lee Roseborough (Hannah Mae), Jessie Davis and Fannie Cureton; two brothers, James Roseborough and Kenneth Roseborough and his beloved daughter Samiya Roseborough. He was Samiya’s hero from beginning to the end.
Sammy Lee Roseborough was educated in the York County public school system where he graduated from Northwestern High School class of 1980. He was employed at Nation Ford Chemical Company in Fort Mill, SC for 15 years as a chemical operator. He later became a diligent entrepreneur. He was a professional grass cutter, landscaper, concrete layer, arborist, and mover. His other talents consisted of babysitter, grill master, and playing softball.
Sammy Lee joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Fort Mill, SC. He loved helping others, including family, friends, and strangers. He often provided services at no charge to those in need.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Octavia Potts Roseborough; two daughters, Latoya Roseborough Smith, Daja Hinton; one son, Samtravious Roseborough; one stepdaughter, Alysha Potts Carico; one stepson, Denairus Potts; four sisters, Elizabeth Roseborough, Vernadine Patterson (Jerrod), Anita Hope (Kenneth), and April Roseborough Jeter (Andrew); one sister-in-law, Teresa Jones (Lewis); aunts, Mary Cureton, Willie Ruth Roseborough both of New York, Johnnie Mae King of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Raquel Stevenson was a special friend to Sammy Lee. Roy “Dank” Miller was a close friend. Renee Watts close friend and nurse to the family. He built countless relationships in the community. He never met a stranger. His con-tagious smile and warm giving heart will be truly missed.
