Doctor Thomas Alexander White was born on May 1, 1981, at York General Hospital in Rock Hill, South Carolina to Vivian Robinson and Thomas White, Jr. He departed this life on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, SC.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marion and Alexander Ratchford; his paternal grandparents, Mary and Thomas White, Sr. aunts, Odessa Poage and Hattie Mae Taylor; niece, Brittany Hardy, and his uncle, Charlie M. White.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1999. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC., his Master’s degree from Winthrop University, and his PhD from Capella University. He was a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of Capitol Hill Seventh Day-Adventist Church in Washington, DC.
Thomas was a mentor, encourager, and inspirational leader. Thomas loved modeling, dancing, making commercials, exercising, acting, and writing in his journals. He started doing a podcast called “The Conversation Continues”. His favorite meal was brunch.
Thomas was employed with the U.S. Census Bureau in Maryland. He received the U.S. Census Bronze Medal Award in 2020. This award is given for superior service characterized by outstanding significant contributions to the Department of Commerce. The Bronze Medal is the honorary award of NOAA, presented by the Undersecretary of Commerce.

White of Roswell, GA, Mary Cornelius of Knoxville, TN, Mary Scruggs (Horace) of Rock Hill, SC, Sherita Williams of Charlotte, NC, Angelia Allison (Tino) and Latonya Barrett (Lavell), both of Rock Hill, SC; uncles, Kimmy S. White (Debra) of Shelby, NC, Sylvester Sanders, Randy Thompson (Magdalene), Cedric Thompson (Shatieya), and Ricky Thompson, all of Rock Hill; two special cousins, Shaquanna Scruggs and Mario Belton, both of Rock Hill, SC; three special friends, Anthony Pegues of Silver Springs, MD, Michael-Neal Bagby of Washington, DC, and Doctor Mikal Rasheed of Alexandria, VA; and a host of other cousins and friends.
