Timothy Warren Thompson, 57, was born on July 18, 1966, the fourth of five children born to Azalee D. Thompson and the late Willie Lee Thompson. He ascended to his final resting place on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Tim, as he was often called, graduated from Northwestern High School in 1984, where, during his high school years, he joined the ROTC. He was a faithful member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Tim always had a passion for fashion, nice cars, traveling to big cities, and singing on the New Hope United Methodist Church Gospel Choir. He couldn’t get enough of singing for the Lord. Tim was a member of various choirs like Black Men United, New Hope United Methodist Church Hymnal Choir, The Traveling Stars, United Voices, and Billy “Blue” Wilson Community Choir.
Tim never married but always had a nurturing spirit. He had a way of making people feel like they were already his friends, and he would keep you laughing. Tim will truly be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Doniece Renee Thompson.
Tim leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Azalee D. Thompson; his only brother, Antoine Thompson; two sisters, Bridgette T. Sanders (Charles “Red” Rufus) of Sumter, SC and Sandra M. Thompson of Rock Hill; favorite nephew, Zederek “Zig” Chambers (Brandie Moore); four nieces, Sheylen Chambers, Taryn Thompson, Toneeya Sanders, and Kameron Thompson; four great-nephews, Jaden Dixon, Nolan Chambers, Kamil Colston, and Aiden Moore; one precious great-niece, Ryan Chambers; two uncles, Bobby Thompson (Hattie) and Marcellers Durham; one aunt, Sarah Thompson; a host of cousins, and you can’t leave out his great -dog-niece, Dutchess, and great-dog-nephew, Flynn.
