Valerie Joy Evans

Ms. Valerie Joy Evans of Rock Hill, South Carolina, departed life on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. A

native of Rock Hill, she was the daughter of Mr. Clinzo Archie and Mrs. Lillian Knox Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Robert L. Knox and Eva Johnson Knox, one sister Robin Knox Barnett, three brothers, Kevin Knox Evans, John W. Evans, and Dexter L. Evans and her god son Desmond Burris.

Valerie was educated in the Rock Hill Public Schools. She was a member of Union Baptist Church where she was baptized and was taught Christian Education. She worked for several health care agencies before retiring from being a certified nursing assistant. Valerie nursed and cared for many hospice patients in the York and Lancaster Counties areas. She enjoyed life and loved her family and friends dearly.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her siblings, Andrea Knox Caldwell (Robert), Evette Evans, both of Rock Hill, Jackie Evans Rumph, (Willie)Vergie Evans Walker (Larry), Sonja Stewart Harper (John), all of Macon, Georgia, her brother Winfred A. Muhammad of Charlotte, North Carolina. Four nieces:

Racheal N. Knox, Aleeshia Knox, Willia Knox, of Rock Hill, Renatta Evans Davis (Danny) of Easley, South Carolina and Zuri Harper of Macon, Georgia; nephews, Jonathan Evans (Sara) of Wallace, South Carolina and Amar Muhammad of Charlotte, North Carolina. her god daughters, Courtney Burris and Chelsea Burris of Rock Hill Her uncles Robert Knox Jr. (Dora), Herbert L. Knox (Ruby) both of Rock Hill, Rev. Isom W.

Evans (Barbara) and Charles Evans of Macon, both Georgia, her aunts, Barbara Knox Ellerbe, Evator Knox Gadson, Cathy Knox, Darlene E. Knox all of Rock Hill, Fannie Evans Culbert and Minnie V. Evans both of Macon, Georgia, a host great nieces and great nephews, many loving cousins and her dear friends.
