Walter Alexander Chisholm

Mr. Walter A. Chisolm, 85, of 1375 Holland Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1939 to the late Jacob Chisolm, Sr. and Carrie Sanifer Chisolm.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, four sisters, Helen Adams, Tommie Mae Mitchell, Mary Ann Young, Carrie Marshall and eight brothers, Samuel Chisolm, Jacob Chisolm Jr., Joseph Chisolm, Allen Chisolm, John C. Chisolm, James Chisolm, Abraham Chisolm and Howard Chisolm.

In the late 1960s, Walter moved to New York City, where he began a long career with Chase Manhattan Bank. He faithfully served until his retirement in 2000, after which he returned home to Rock Hill with his wife and one of his sons. A devoted fan of the New York Jets, Walter carried his love for the team throughout his life.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Charlie Frances Ervin Chisolm; three sons, Deron Chisolm (Ramona), Bernard Chisolm, and Typhone Chisolm (Paulette); three grandchildren; brother, Rev. Daniel Chisolm (Mae Frances); sisters-in-law, Mae Ola Chisolm, Johnnie Mae Chisolm, Catherine Chisolm, Louise Chisolm, Alberta Chisolm, Pauline Byers (Joe), Gloria Ervin and Jackie Ervin; brothers-in-law, Fletcher Ervin, Wylie Mayes Ervin, Robert Lee Ervin (Velbert), and James Phillip Ervin (Tonya); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Walter will be remembered for his dedication to family, his steady work ethic, and the joy he found in both his hometown and his favorite team.
