Wanda Lucel Cherry-Hairston

Wanda Lucel Cherry-Hairston 61, was born December 29, 1961, in Rock Hill, SC. Birth to the late Ernest Castle and Selena Williams. Wanda was amongst her brothers, Victor Belton, and Leroy Belton, and her sisters, Busel Crawford, and Jolena Williams.

Wanda grew up in Deer Park New York where she attended Deer Park High School and graduated with her High School diploma at the age of 16. In her teenage years, she also attended Barbizon Modeling and acting school where her beauty and talents were showcased.

Later in life, she accomplished her RNBSN-BACHELOR of science. Wanda worked as a CNA/along with her RN doing private care. She then became an owner of a home care health agency “Preferred Home Care”. Wanda worked at Novant Presbyterian Hospital for over 20 years. She accomplished much more in her life and she also obtained her CDLs.

Wanda was a true go-getter. If she wanted it, it was hers! She was very loving, and sweet but also a stern woman. She touched many lives as she lived but all who knew her know the love and sacrifice she had for her kids.

Wanda leaves to cherish her memory to her children: Trevor D. Cherry (our angel), Colin T. Cherry, Trevora C. Cherry, Tjada C. Cherry, Corinne C. Cherry, Caelin T. Cherry, Christian J. Hairston, Jasmine S. Johnson; her grandchildren, Julian D. Cherry, Jayden A. Roberts and Madison L. Cherry.

Wanda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
