Willie Ed Williams

Mr. Willie Ed Williams was born January 8, 1936 in York County, SC to the late Thomas Williams and the late Mamie Shirley Williams.  He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.

Mr. Williams attended public schools of York County Public Schools and was employed by Estes Freight Company as a Freight Loader where he retired in 2001.

He was a dedicated brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Reared in a Christian home, he attended Cedar Grove Methodist AME as a child, and joined Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where he was baptized in 2011. He was a member of Annie Springs Close Gateway that afforded him fishing year-round. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and bird watching. He often spoke about hunting and fishing with his father as a child.  And, he had many stories of growing up in the “country.”

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by her sisters, Curtis Erby (Harrison), A. Louise Powell (Hezekiah), Rosetta Williamson (Walter); Mrs. Arsonia Mann (Curtis); brothers, Charles Williams and Harvey Williams; cousins raised as siblings, Alice V. Crawford, Elizabeth Belton (John); in-Law, Ronald Stroman.

Mr. Williams leaves to cherish his memories one sister Hattie Stroman (Fort Washington MD); his Caregivers, Phyllis Fickling (niece) and Willie Crawford (cousin). His legacy lives on with his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His neighbors in the Cotton Mill Apartments served as comfort and company to him for the past five years.
