Willie James Peterson

Mr. Willie James Peterson, 77, of 1144 Doris Court, Rock Hill, South Carolina, departed this life on July 11, 2025. He was born June 4, 1948 to the late Mr. Robert Lee Peterson, Sr. and Mrs. Mary McDaniel Peterson.

Willie attended the public schools in York County. He worked as a Yard Jockey Driver at DMSI. He was a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Where sang on the Hymn Choir.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Thompson Peterson, sisters, Daphne B. Agurs and Clementine Peterson, brothers, Robert Lee Peterson Jr. and Sylvester "Butch" Peterson.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories, his son, William Peterson (Anicko) of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Taymarla Campbell, of the home; brother, David Peterson (Janie) of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Frances Miller (Robert); sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Lowery and Katricia McGriff; brother-in-law, Rev. Joe Lee; five grandchildren, Du'Sharme Feaster, Nick Sturgill, Zikeria Chalk (Shawn), Du'Kinsley Peterson Sr., and Delonte Holland; five great-grandchildren, Delyah Cunningham, Du'Quis Cunningham, Sa'Myah Chalk, Shawn Chalk Jr., and Du'Kinsley Peterson Jr.; uncle, Miller McDaniels; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
